Easter Style

Easter Style

Easter is just two weeks away! I love Easter because it symbolizes rebirth and it’s basically a pastel haven. Whether you celebrate at church or on the beach, I’m sharing my favorite Easter looks for this spring.

First and foremost, this pink SWF dress, y’all. I loved it for Valentine’s Day and I love it for Easter. It is so cute, comfortable and currently 25 percent off at Saks. I paired it with wedges and my favorite Pamela Munson bag, which makes an ideal look for a day time church service.

Pink Midi Dress, Yellow Sandals, Yellow Polka Dot Dress, Sun Hat with Ribbon, Lilac Hunza G Swimsuit, Tan Wedges, Blush Pink Belted Dress, White Mini Purse, Mint Green Dress, Lavender Pool Slides, Colorful Bracelets, Tan Bow Sandals, Designer Easter Eggs

The amount of gorgeous pastel dresses this spring just has me so overwhelmed and happy. From pink to mint green and yellow polka dots, you will look stunning no matter where you celebrate your Easter Sunday. If you’re looking for a fun addition to an Easter egg hunt, check out these designer eggs from Haute and Cool.

All about the details. Paired my dress with wedges and a gorgeous woven bag…perfect for Easter.

How are you celebrating Easter this year? Will you be wearing any of my Easter looks? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Dressing like a Duchess

Dressing like a Duchess

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will share their first interview post-royal life tonight with the legendary Oprah Winfrey. While their story will no doubt be enthralling, what has always drawn me to the royal family is the style of the women of Windsor. From Queen Victoria to Princess Diana and the two Duchesses, I cannot get enough royal fashions.

Personally, I think Kate is a greater style icon, but I can relate more to Meghan’s style. Meghan chooses beautiful pieces to wear, but for whatever reason, the fit is usually off or it may not be the best style for the occasion, whereas Kate nails fit and occasion every time.

What I love about both duchesses is that they blend high street fashions with couture pieces. One day we might see Kate in a Jenny Packham gown and the next morning we might see her playing with her children in a Zara dress. With both women, one thing we know for sure is that whenever they wear affordable fashions, the pieces are sure to be sold out in seconds.

Kate favors brands like Emilia Wickstead, Elie Saab, Zara, Jimmy Choo and Superga while Meghan loves Oscar de la Renta, Victoria Beckham, Aquazurra, Veja and J.Crew. Kate’s style is definitely more mature and conservative than Meghan’s and I think that is because it has to be. Kate is the future queen of England and Meghan now has the life of a celebrity in Montecito so she can be much more laid back and take risks that Kate can’t.

I am loving Meghan’s style post-royal life. I think we are now seeing the real Meghan and she is a lot more comfortable with herself. Constant scrutiny and the need to wear over-the-top fashions every day must have been exhausting so I totally understand her desire to be back in California. And what better place to relocate than Montecito? Santa Barbara and Montecito have a very special place in my heart as I was married there and have spent a lot of time in the area. I think Meghan is nailing Montecito chic and I am so happy for her.

I see Kate as the style icon because she is someone I aspire to be and has a life I could really only dream of, as such her clothes are not things I would normally wear. Meghan’s style is much more accessible and her life now is much more relatable. Once in a while I will have the same dress as Kate (usually from Zara) but it is a regular occurrence that Meghan is photographed in an outfit that I also have and that is pretty cool.

What did you think of the interview tonight and who is your royal style icon? Leave me a comment and let me know!

WFH Style

WFH Style

Working from home–or WFH as it has been coined, once a situation many dreamed of, now seems here to stay. As the coronavirus pandemic drags on, in-person meetings have been swapped for zoom meetings, and a new genre of clothing has emerged…Work From Home Style. Luckily, comfort is key in the WFH trend and pairing comfortable pieces with laidback sophisticated pieces will have you looking on point for your all of your virtual appointments.

Working from home is a major adjustment and while many of us thought it would be a temporary situation, we are now six months in. At this point, we just need to embrace our new normal and be thankful for the time we’re saving each day getting ready. Although working from home is more relaxed than your look needs to be in the office, there is still an unspoken dress code… or at least there should be. By mixing sophisticated pieces with casual loungewear, you can achieve a polished work-from-home look. From easy t-shirt dresses to work-appropriate leggings, I will show you five looks that will be great for Zoom calls and keep you comfortable for the whole day.

Brit’s Tips for Working from Home Comfortably:

  1. Comfort is key
  2. Mix easy pieces with a polished top or blazer
  3. Amplify your look with accessories from the waist up
  4. Save your skin and do a minimal version of your usual makeup

Happy Friday, loves!! I am loving this weekend because there are so many amazing sales happening!! And right now, my FAVORITE dress of the summer is currently on sale and still available in a few sizes!! Use the code SUMMER on the J.crew website to get an extra 40 percent off of this showstopper of a dress.

We’re all wearing face masks when we go out now so why not get a really cute one? I love all things pastel so of course I am loving the new Stoney Clover pastel masks with these fun beads! Stoney Clover is also making clear cases for masks which are definitely an upgrade from the ziplock bags I’ve been carrying my masks around in!

I was browsing online the other night and I think I’ve created my dream summer outfit! Paring this white linen crop top and pants with simple tan sandals and rainbow accessories is the perfect look for a night out this summer for pretty much any activity. The rainbow pompom straw bag is currently on sale for just $51! If you want to dress it up a bit, you could swap out the wrap sandals for the Loeffler Randall Penny Knot Mules.

Times have been tough and I’ve noticed people are giving more gifts than usual to cheer friends and loved ones up. If you’re looking to do something like that and needing some inspiration, these are a few of my favorite gifts lately. I just randomly found the Bliss Jelly Glow Peel the other day at Target and I don’t normally experiment with drugstore skin care, but I caved in…I just love all things pink… and I’m so glad I gave this a shot! At $10, this peel has not irritated my face, but rather has truly made it glow! It is so easy to use too. You just rub it on in a circular motion after you wash your face and it takes away all of your dead skin–it is fabulous and I’m sure you and your friends will love it! Candles are also a great gift option, who doesn’t love candles?! The Fornasetti Candles are a little pricey, but smell great and really make a statement. I also just LOVE these lemon cocktail napkins…get a set of these, a nice bottle of vodka and a sparkling French lemonade and you’ve got yourself a beautiful and summery hostess gift!

I hope you loved my picks this week and I hope everyone has a SAFE and HEALTHY weekend!

What a week it has been, friends! It is always kind of crazy coming back from vacation, but it feels like this week has just blown by! Although this week has been fast, it has also been filled with some amazing sales…from Tory Burch’s Semi-Annual Sale to Net-A-Porter’s major sale, we are in store for some great deals as we head into summer and I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites on the blog today.

For my picks this week I have to start right off with these pearl sunglasses. I ordered them in April and I just got them in the mail on Monday…I have not stopped wearing them and everywhere I go, I get SO many compliments!! From the dry cleaners to lunch with my girlfriends, everyone loves these sunglasses and are blown away when I tell them I got them from Amazon for $13.99!!

1. Pearl Sunglasses 2. Tory Burch Polka Dot Dress 3. Tory Burch Fish Earrings 4. Sisley Black Rose Cream 5. Zimmerman Dress 6. Ulla Johnson Maxi Dress 7. Ulla Johnson Ruffle Top 8. Pink Free People Dress 9. Lisa Marie Fernandez Bikini
10. TKEES Lace Up Sandals 11. Ganni Midi Skirt  12. Corkcicle Canteen

I am also so excited about the Tory Burch sale this week. Tory Burch clothing is some of my favorite–it is so well made, effortlessly chic and flattering. I do think her prices are a bit steep, but as soon as her clothes go on sale, I snatch them up! I am in love with the navy blue and white polka dot dress and these fish earrings are to die for! A couple of years ago, I bought a similar set of earrings from her, but they are gold dragonflies and I’m hoping I will love these fish just as much. They are such a steal at $75!

Pictured here on New Years Eve 2018 wearing the Dragonfly Tory Burch earrings.

Net-a-Porter is also offering 50 percent off of hundreds of styles this week and some of my favorite designers are included in the sale! I live for Zimmerman and Ulla Johnson, but they are also brands I prefer to buy on sale. I am loving this peach Zimmerman dress with floral detailing, the cream puff-sleeve blouse from Ulla Johnson and this blue and white maxi dress from Ulla Johnson as well! They are all half-off right now so its a great time to buy and you have all summer to wear these beautiful pieces.

Aside from the sales, I have been crushing on this hot pink Free People Dress for a few Weeks and I think I just need to buy it! I am also loving the Tkees lace up sandals…I have a similar pair from Splendid that I bought a few years ago, but am in need of an update. If you are a Corkcicle fan, this confetti canteen is on sale at Nordstrom right now and is perfect for keeping your beverages cool in the summer heat. And last but not least, I have been using a sample of the Sisley Black Rose cream that I got a while ago for the past two weeks and I have seen a real difference in the firmness of my skin, it is a little pricey, but if you’re looking for a fabulous night cream like I have been, I would highly recommend this one!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
