Summer Wishlist

Summer Wishlist

Memorial Day is the unofficial beginning of summer in my mind and with these soaring temperatures in Austin the past few days, I’m officially declaring it summer a few days early. Luckily, with the summer heat comes easy breezy styles and lots of color so today I want to share the items I am loving and eyeing for the summer months ahead.

For the summer, I love transitioning to a new signature scent. Byredo’s Gypsy Water is a sultry, yet refreshing scent that is so beautiful during the summer months. I’m also switching my nail color to my favorite new shade of pink! I love this color because it is sheer, but a striking pink.

My favorite look for the summer is this linen set. I’ve paired it with my new handbag for the summer, my favorite Hermès sandals and of course my Celine dupe sunglasses. I love this set because it is sophisticated and so comfortable in the heat. Another handbag I’m dreaming of this summer is this little Goyard bucket bag. I think it is so chic and would be perfect for any occasion.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I’m a big dress person. I love dresses because they are not only beautiful, but so easy to wear in the hot months of summer. I’m currently dying over this Palm Tree print maxi dress–how great would this be for a summer dinner? And I cannot wait to get the rainbow print maxi dress from Staud. The pink smocked maxi dress will be a staple for me and I’ll be wearing it everywhere from church to dinners and brunch with my friends. Of all the dresses, this blue and white maxi dress from Le Superbe will be my most worn this summer, I’m sure. Blue and white stripes are just my aesthetic.

If you’re hitting the beach soon, I can’t recommend this combo enough. While I love a swimsuit and matching pareo, I think pairing a solid one-piece with this gorgeous Agua by Agua Bendita Pareo would be stunning.

Which styles are you loving for the summer? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Spring and Summer Wedding Guest Dresses

Spring and Summer Wedding Guest Dresses

It seems that weddings are back in full swing which means you’ll need a refresh on your wedding guest attire. After more than a year of cancelled weddings and delayed engagements, it is so exciting to think about celebrating with loved ones and having weddings again.

A major wedding trend I’m seeing for this summer is the destination wedding, which I love! I’m all for traditional weddings, but destination weddings allow you and your guests let your hair down a bit more and you all get to enjoy a vacation together. For a destination wedding, I like to wear fun, elevated maxi dresses…here are a few I would wear if I were going.

Save: Blue and White Striped Maxi Dresses Moderate: Mint Green Staud Maxi Dress Splurge: PatBo Blossom Cutout Gown

Another wedding trend for this summer will be intimate daytime weddings held outdoors. For this occasion, I think wearing a beautiful sun dress is the best option. I love sticking to pastels for weddings, but since it’s summertime, maybe throw in a subtle pop of neon too.

Save: Baby Blue Dress Moderate: Lavender Midi Dress Splurge: Neon Midi Dress

For a more traditional wedding, I think the most popular dress code is cocktail attire. I can’t even remember the last time I wore a cocktail dress so it was so fun to look through cocktail dresses today. Here are a few I would wear for a wedding this summer.

Save: Hot Pink Zara Slip Dress Moderate: Periwinkle One Shoulder Midi Dress Splurge: Johanna Ortiz Tribal Dress

Now for black tie…if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I loathe reading “black tie” on an invitation. Not because I don’t love getting dressed up, but because it is often misinterpreted. Nine times out of 10 when you are invited to a black tie wedding, most of the female guests are just dressed in really nice cocktail dresses and you show up in a gown and feel like a fool. BUT for the one time out of ten that guests are actually in gowns, I live for that wedding and I am here for it.

Just as an aside to all brides…please don’t say you are having a black tie wedding if it isn’t super formal! It is really confusing to guests and pretty unnecessary. So if your wedding starts before 6 p.m. or isn’t a formal seated dinner, consider putting “elevated cocktail” as your dress code.

Now back to ACTUAL black tie or white tie wedding guest dresses…. here are a few of my favorites that I would love to wear this summer! Let’s start with this beautiful blush number by Katie May. I love Katie May because her dresses are made well, look amazing and come at an even better price point. If you’re wanting to spend a bit more, I also love formal dresses by Chiara Boni La Petite Robe. They come at a moderate price point and look amazing on all body types. Now, if you’re wanting to SPLURGE…take a look at this citrus inspired gown by Oscar de la Renta!! I mean, it is the dress of my dreams. If I had been invited to a fancy wedding on the Amalfi Coast in Italy this summer, I would definitely be showing up in this.

Save: Blush Gown Moderate: Floral One Shoulder Gown Splurge: Oscar de la Renta Lemon Gown

Are you going to any weddings this spring or summer? Which dress code is your favorite?

Watercolor Packing List

Watercolor Packing List

We are heading back to one of my favorite places…Watercolor, Florida!! As many of you know, we love Watercolor and have been going there A LOT over the past year. I have been visiting this area for about a decade and my husband and his family have been going for pretty much his whole life. To get ready for my trip, I’m sharing my packing list!

This trip to Watercolor is even more exciting than usual because we’re not only going to enjoy the beach, but we also get to celebrate Easter with our friends at the Chapel at Seaside which is going to be so special.

For those of you who don’t know, Watercolor and Seaside are two communities that back up to one another along the iconic stretch of the beachside highway known as 30A. You can distinguish where you are in this area by the architecture. Seaside is known for having almost dollhouse looking homes painted in pinks, yellows, blues, greens and white and Watercolor is filled with larger homes mostly painted in whites, blues and greens. All of these towns are connected with bike paths so you never have to drive anywhere which I love.

The most beautiful beach.

The weather along the Florida panhandle is gorgeous during the month of April and it’s usually a lot less busy than spring break and the summer. Since the vibe in the area is casual chic, I’m packing mostly dresses and pastel-colored swimsuits. I never go to the beach without packing a few sunhats…I live for my Eugenia Kim hat and it is just amazing, but it is kind of a hassle to pack. If you’re flying or don’t want to deal with bringing a big hat, check out this foldable one I found for less than $10. I use it way more than my other hats and I get so many compliments on it.

Have you been to Watercolor or anywhere on 30A? What are your favorite things to do in the area?

Easter Style

Easter Style

Easter is just two weeks away! I love Easter because it symbolizes rebirth and it’s basically a pastel haven. Whether you celebrate at church or on the beach, I’m sharing my favorite Easter looks for this spring.

First and foremost, this pink SWF dress, y’all. I loved it for Valentine’s Day and I love it for Easter. It is so cute, comfortable and currently 25 percent off at Saks. I paired it with wedges and my favorite Pamela Munson bag, which makes an ideal look for a day time church service.

Pink Midi Dress, Yellow Sandals, Yellow Polka Dot Dress, Sun Hat with Ribbon, Lilac Hunza G Swimsuit, Tan Wedges, Blush Pink Belted Dress, White Mini Purse, Mint Green Dress, Lavender Pool Slides, Colorful Bracelets, Tan Bow Sandals, Designer Easter Eggs

The amount of gorgeous pastel dresses this spring just has me so overwhelmed and happy. From pink to mint green and yellow polka dots, you will look stunning no matter where you celebrate your Easter Sunday. If you’re looking for a fun addition to an Easter egg hunt, check out these designer eggs from Haute and Cool.

All about the details. Paired my dress with wedges and a gorgeous woven bag…perfect for Easter.

How are you celebrating Easter this year? Will you be wearing any of my Easter looks? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Y’all…..this dress is giving me ALL of the Juliet vibes and I plan to live in it for the rest of this summer!! Did anyone else dream of being Claire Danes opposite *LEO* in the 90s version of Romeo + Juliet?! Because I did and this dress is getting me closer to that dream. I have a feeling this will sell out quickly so make sure you scoop it up while you can!

Considering we don’t have many places to go, the options for amazing dresses this summer have been impressive and shockingly well-priced. I am crushing on this white English Factory dress with rainbow trim and love that it is under $100. I also think the mint green gingham style midi dress from Tuckernuck is a classic closet staple, but it is a bit pricier. If you’re looking for the perfect top to wear with white skinny jeans, the blue and white striped blouse from English Factory is it. Paired with the tan Staud leather slides, you will no doubt be the chicest girl in the room if you make it out to any social gatherings soon!

I don’t know if you’re in the market for a new hand or body soap, but let me tell you about the Raw Sugar Living soaps. I discovered them a couple of weeks ago at Target and am now completely obsessed. At first I just tried the Watermelon + Mint hand soap because the bottle looked really cool and it was priced well ($4.99 compared to the $12.95 hand soap I buy at Williams-Sonoma) and I am so glad I gave it a shot! The Raw Sugar soaps are not tested on animals and they are sulfate and paraben free. The Watermelon + Mint flavor literally smells like a jolly rancher when I was my hands, it’s amazing! Since I liked the hand soap so much, I decided to buy the body wash too and I love it! As I’ve gotten older, I have developed an allergy to sulfates and it has been challenging to find a sulfate-free body wash that actually cleans your body well and is not $30 or $40. At $6.99, the Raw Sugar body wash is fresh, chemical-free and cleans well with a beautiful summery scent.

I hope everyone has an incredible weekend and that you love my picks this week!

Happy Friday, loves!! I am so excited about this long weekend and finally having a chance to hangout and relax with my husband and friends.

I have been living in this Ro’s Garden cover up this summer and I’m wearing it here with my favorite Trina Turk “Spicy” Clutch. I ordered it in a size small and love the loose fit…it is perfect to wear for a long day on the beach or the boat. It is one of those dresses that you can easily throw on to run in to grab lunch or comfortably wear on the beach all day because of its light-weight and breezy fabric. I also love the red and pink flowers on it– you could even wear it for the Fourth of July tomorrow with a blue swimsuit. I wore it here with my favorite tan slides, but how cute would it be with the Melissa heart pool sandals?! And of course no summer outfit is complete without a pair of sunglasses and my current favorites are these Gucci lookalike sunnies from Amazon…I swear you cannot tell the difference from the real ones, but they are only $12.99!! These do sell out quickly so be sure to grab yours soon!

1. Gucci Lookalike sunnies 2. Ganni Polka Dot Midi Dress 3. Hermes Face Mask 4. Staud Maxi Dress 5. Juicytube–Spring Fling 6. Spiritual Gangster Tee 7. Prada Slides 8. Ro’s Garden Caroline Cover up 9. Alo Biker Shorts 10. Slip Sleep Mist 11. J.Crew Cotton Pajamas 12. Melissa Heart Pool Sandals

Face masks have become this summer’s hottest accessory and how chic are these Hermes masks?! In addition to being uber-stylish in these masks, the proceeds from the masks are donated towards the purchase of diabetic alert service dogs for children and teens. If you’re looking for a little glam under your face mask, my favorite lip gloss from middle school is back! Lancome’s Juicy Tubes are back!! My favorite shade is SringFling…it’s the perfect dewey pink gloss!

Saks Fifth Avenue has some of the cutest new dresses in for summer and I am drooling over them!! The white Staud maxi dress with multi-colored lining is such a perfect dress, whether you’re staying at home or going to brunch with your friends. I am also in love with this new Ganni polka dot dress. Both dresses would pair perfectly with Prada’s Raffia slide sandals.

Ever since I’ve started going back to the gym after quarantine, I’ve changed my workout style. I have been loving oversized Spiritual Gangster tee shirts (the SOFTEST!! material) and pairing them with biker shorts which I never thought I’d say!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had trouble sleeping the past few nights. The J.crew cotton pajamas are my absolute favorite–they are breathable and light, but offer coverage, which is perfect for summer in Texas. They are also 50 percent off right now with the code GOFOURTH. I’m hoping new pajamas and the chamomile sleep mist from Slip will help me get back into a regular sleep schedule soon.

I hope you all have a safe and healthy Fourth of July and enjoy all of my picks this week!

I think quarantine-time has finally gotten to me! I actually thought yesterday was Friday, but I’m back on track today and sharing my favorite items with you.

My favorite Zara dress this season is still available and I have been wearing it non-stop. I love this dress because it is light-weight which is essential for a Texas summer, it’s feminine and machine-washable so it is super low-maintenance. On the Zara website, it is not shown with a belt, but I’ve worn it with a couple of my own belts and I really think it makes the dress more flattering. I’ve styled it here with the Loeffler Randall Penny Knot Mules in rose gold. These shoes are worth the hype and they are currently on sale at Shopbop.

1. Staud Handbag 2. Zara Midi Dress 3. Haight Swimsuit 4. Roller Rabbit Robe 5. Cinq a Sept Top 6. Valentino look-alike sandals 7. LoveShackFancy Swimsuit 8. L’AgenceDenim 9. Honig Sauvignon Blanc 10. Loeffler Randall Bow Mules 11. Homesick Candle

I’m also loving this one-pice swimsuit from Haight–it is incredible. I have it in black and will be getting the white too. Because I’m 5’8″ I ordered the medium and it fits perfectly. This Roberta Roller Rabbit robe is perfect for summer and I’m loving the color.

During the summer, most of the clothes I wear are in light colors because of how hot it gets here. I’m loving this monochromatic look with the bow-sleeved Cinq a Sept top, which is currently on a major sale at Saks, paired with the L’Agence Marguerite High-Rise Skinny jeans. I bought a pair of these jeans a few years ago and they are one of my all-time favorite jeans. They are pricey, but totally worth the investment. Speaking of Saks, this adorable LoveShackFancy swimsuit is also on sale right now and is too cute for hitting the pool or beach this summer.

If you are looking for a new white wine, look no further than this Honig Sauvignon Blanc. At $15 a bottle, this wine is crisp, light, refreshing and honestly a great value for money. I have been drinking it for the past month and really enjoying it.

What are your favorites this week? I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!
