Whether you’re celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa or something else, the holidays are upon us! Because different families and types of celebrations call for different styles of clothing, I’m sharing some of my favorite looks for this holiday season from tacky to snazzy and everything in between.
For this snazzy holiday look, I went a little bit out of my comfort zone. Of course if you’ve been following me for a bit, you will have seen this sweater a few times, but I think it is ideal for the holidays. I also live in my black Manolo Blahniks–they are an investment, but some of the best money you can spend. I bought this pair six years ago and wear they all the time. Outside of these staples for me, these Spanx leggings y’all… definitely not something I would normally ever buy or wear, but I kept seeing them everywhere so I had to give them a shot. While they are a bit loud for me…literally and metaphorically, they are incredibly flattering and SO comfortable to wear! If you’re feeling like looking a little bold at your holiday celebration, I would definitely recommend these.
Now this look is a little bit more my speed and one of my favorite holiday looks I’ve ever put together! I wore this a few years ago for Christmas in New Orleans with my husband’s family. I wore this to our Christmas Eve luncheon at Arnaud’s and it was the perfect combo for such a traditional setting. Luckily, the pants, shoes and sweater I wore are still in stock, but the Theory Bow Blouse is sadly out of stock. I found a replacement and I think it would still make the look incredible.
And now for the fun stuff!! I live for tacky Christmas parties and I’m so thankful we are having a family tacky Christmas sweater party this year for Christmas Eve. Inspired by a tacky candy cane, I put this look together last year and could not have been happier with it! For the tacky Christmas party I attended last year, I wore this amazing Christmas tree looking sweater and Rachel Parcell pajama pants. They are no longer available, but I found a similar pair at Target that are so cute! Pair this with a sparkly pair of sneakers and you will be ready for a good time!
How are you celebrating the holidays this year? Leave me a comment and let me know!
Ok y’all, I have to admit, this set of gift guides might be my favorite so far! I have a bunch of nieces and nephews and lots of friends with little kids and of course my sweet Charlie so I LOVE getting gifts for the little ones in my life! From kitchen play sets to Disney pajamas and sparkling water toys for dogs, these gift guides are perfect for the children and pups in your life and cover all price points.
My sister-in-law loves getting matching monogrammed Cecil and Lou pajamas for the kids in the family every year for Christmas and I think that is such a fun idea! The pajamas are so festive and it makes for great photos that can be treasured forever.
I don’t have children yet, but I love buying gifts for the little ones in my life. Over the years, I’ve really liked bundling several things for the kids like pajamas, a book and a stuffed animal as a gift. When I was little, I treasured my books and stuffed animals so I guess I’m pushing those things on the kids in my life now, but I do think they really love getting them! I’m also DYING over these alligator slippers and in addition to getting a pair for my nephew, I might get a pair for my future son too!
And now for the puppies!! As most of you know, I got a puppy in August so this will be our first Christmas with our precious Charlie and I am so excited to spoil him!! From fuzzy sweaters to sparkling water, this gift guide will help you pamper your furry friends for the holiday. Charlie already has a few of these items and he loves them.
The fuzzy donut bed from Amazon is probably the best thing we’ve bought him so far. It is only $35 and he uses it all the time! It comes in two colors and is machine washable so I cannot recommend this product highly enough. Charlie also loves his SparkleDog treats and they would make such a fun gift for your pup and to give your friends who have dogs too. We also use the Kiehl’s Cleansing Spritz on him in-between baths. It smells great and is so much easier to use than giving him a bath.
Don’t tell Charlie, but I’m wrapping all of his gifts this year in the personalized wrapping paper from Etsy! Is it not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!
I hope these gift guides help you spoil the children and animals in your life this holiday season! Check back next Friday for another set of my gift guides!
Happy Friday, everyone! Can you believe we made through this week?! Luckily, the gauntlet that is 2020 is ALMOST over and that means Christmas is upon us!! I have started my gift guides for the season and am so excited to share them with y’all! Today, I am sharing my guides for Her, Him and Them.
Let’s start with the ladies! I developed this guide at several different price points and I think these gifts are most applicable for your friends, sisters, sister-in-laws, moms, mother-in-laws, grandmothers, girlfriends, fiancés and wives.
You’ve probably noticed by now, but I love cooking and I love pulling recipes from all over the place! This adorable binder is such an upgrade from the basic Office Max version I was using before and I truly love it! Such a thoughtful gift for the chefs and hostesses in your life! Pair this set with a cute Apron and Spatulas and you’ve got a beautiful gift.
I am obsessed with anything Rose Carmine, but particularly this stunning sweater and would love to get this under the tree this year…*hint, hint, Will!!!* It is a bit of a splurge, but IMO, totally worth it!
This pajama set is to die for!! I bought several sets for myself and family members during the anniversary sale and cannot recommend it enough! First and foremost, it is so cozy, but it is affordable and machine washable and dryable!! Seriously saves me so much time compared to my Eberjey and Bedhead sets, but same quality.
Whether the women in your life enjoy working out or not, we’re all wearing leggings…a majority of the time lately and IMO, these are the best. They fit many different body types perfectly and last forever! Can’t go wrong with these.
This bag is a must for every woman. It is timeless, durable, practical and elegant. I got mine several years ago and it is my most-used bag to this day. It can also transition from an everyday bag to a work bag or diaper bag seamlessly.
I LOVE Jo Malone Perfume and think it makes for a wonderful gift. During the holidays, Neiman Marcus stores have artists who come to hand paint all Jo Malone products and I think giving someone one of these painted bottles is extra special. My favorite scent is Earl Grey and Cucumber…it is very light and smells like you just walked out of the spa. I will say that perfume is a very personal choice so maybe check your girlfriend/partner/mother’s bathroom before buying a fragrance.
Hands down, this is the best at-home facial money can buy. For $30, you are getting fabulous packaging, a fun at-home system and a facial that can tighten and brighten your skin.
Let’s all take a minute and admit that it is really hard to buy gifts for the men in our lives. With that said, I have learned a few tips about giving gifts to men over the years. For my dad, I know that a handwritten note is the absolute best gift I can give him, but outside of that, I’ve started paying attention to what my dad buys for himself. Mostly golf stuff and Peter Milar anything. So whether it is your dad, husband, brother or grandfather, look at what they buy themselves and maybe get them something they already have in another color or pattern.
When I was telling my dad about the gift guides, he told me that when you’re thinking of a gift to get the men in your life, you should follow their hobby. So basically, if they’re a golfer or a car fanatic, look at that and then do some research on a great gift in that area. Also, pay attention to what they say they want. My husband and dad both want very few things in this world so whenever I hear them say, “oh wow! I want that!” I immediately make a note in my phone and save it for their birthday or Christmas.
These hand-dipped cocktail glasses come from the coolest store in Houston and now Austin, Manready Mercantile, and they are a wonderful gift for the guys in your life. You could add a bottle of their favorite drink and you’re all set. They also come in orange and pink if you don’t like the black.
I ordered this for my husband for his birthday this year because he said he wanted it and he enjoys cigars once in a while. It is a beautiful gift from a local shop in Fredericksburg, Texas and relatively affordable. I also got him a few cigars to go in it and he absolutely loved it!
From what I’ve heard from all of the male golfers in my life, Pro V1s are the gold standard in golf balls. For my dad’s birthday, I ordered him a custom set of these golf balls with Lar Bear and a shamrock on them. They were about four months late arriving because of COVID, but when they did finally arrive, he loved them and thought they were funny.
Ok y’all, I’m sure you’ve seen these sneakers everywhere, but my dad bought several colors and he is obsessed with them! Scoop up a pair for your man and I’m sure they will be thrilled!
Now for the couples in your life or your parents or mother and father-in-law. For this category, I’m thinking of your married friends, brother and sister-in-laws, married cousins, etc. When I think of buying gifts for my parents and couples in general, I try to think of things that both a man and woman would like or that would be good for the home or entertaining.
For this gift guide, I’ve shown items individually and have added suggestions of things you can pair them with if you want to elevate your gift.
For the wine lovers in your life! The Coravin is a game changer for wine drinkers. How many times have you been at home alone and wanted a glass of wine, not the whole bottle and didn’t want the rest to go bad? This system can serve wine in small amounts without losing the integrity of the bottle. Pair this with a bottle of wine and a set of glasses and you will have an ideal gift!
I absolutely love these Katie Kime ice buckets to give to couples as a gift! My personal favorite is the oyster and lemon design, but there are so many cute options to choose from. You can also get these monogrammed which is a great personal touch. I would pair this with a nice bottle of champagne and you’re all set!
These cheese knives and marble cheese boards are sure to be a crowd pleaser for your friends and family members! Whether you’re entertaining or just making a cheese board at home, this set is perfect and an affordable gift!
This terracotta pomegranate serves not only as a beautiful display to dress up a powder room, but also as a diffuser. I also recommend Monogram napkins as a wonderful gift for friends and family. To dress them up a bit, you can present them with a tray to hold them in.
Many people have had to put trips on hold this year, but what about surprising friends and family with a beautiful coffee table book and an airline gift card to a destination they’ve been dreaming about.
This one doesn’t need much of an explanation, but I have never met anyone who doesn’t love Nespresso machines! They are the best and so easy to use. Pair the machine with a sleeve of their favorite coffee pods and maybe some cute mugs and you’re good to go!
Gift Card to their favorite restaurant
Restaurants have been struggling during the pandemic and we all love a nice out for dinner so think about your loved ones’ favorite restaurants and get them a gift card to their favorite spot.
I hope y’all loved these gift guides and that I’ve been able to help you kick off your holiday shopping! Come back next week to see my next set of gift guides!
Y’all…..this dress is giving me ALL of the Juliet vibes and I plan to live in it for the rest of this summer!! Did anyone else dream of being Claire Danes opposite *LEO* in the 90s version of Romeo + Juliet?! Because I did and this dress is getting me closer to that dream. I have a feeling this will sell out quickly so make sure you scoop it up while you can!
I don’t know if you’re in the market for a new hand or body soap, but let me tell you about the Raw Sugar Living soaps. I discovered them a couple of weeks ago at Target and am now completely obsessed. At first I just tried the Watermelon + Mint hand soap because the bottle looked really cool and it was priced well ($4.99 compared to the $12.95 hand soap I buy at Williams-Sonoma) and I am so glad I gave it a shot! The Raw Sugar soaps are not tested on animals and they are sulfate and paraben free. The Watermelon + Mint flavor literally smells like a jolly rancher when I was my hands, it’s amazing! Since I liked the hand soap so much, I decided to buy the body wash too and I love it! As I’ve gotten older, I have developed an allergy to sulfates and it has been challenging to find a sulfate-free body wash that actually cleans your body well and is not $30 or $40. At $6.99, the Raw Sugar body wash is fresh, chemical-free and cleans well with a beautiful summery scent.
I hope everyone has an incredible weekend and that you love my picks this week!
Happy Friday, loves!! I am loving this weekend because there are so many amazing sales happening!! And right now, my FAVORITE dress of the summer is currently on sale and still available in a few sizes!! Use the code SUMMER on the J.crew website to get an extra 40 percent off of this showstopper of a dress.
We’re all wearing face masks when we go out now so why not get a really cute one? I love all things pastel so of course I am loving the new Stoney Clover pastel masks with these fun beads! Stoney Clover is also making clear cases for masks which are definitely an upgrade from the ziplock bags I’ve been carrying my masks around in!
Times have been tough and I’ve noticed people are giving more gifts than usual to cheer friends and loved ones up. If you’re looking to do something like that and needing some inspiration, these are a few of my favorite gifts lately. I just randomly found the Bliss Jelly Glow Peel the other day at Target and I don’t normally experiment with drugstore skin care, but I caved in…I just love all things pink… and I’m so glad I gave this a shot! At $10, this peel has not irritated my face, but rather has truly made it glow! It is so easy to use too. You just rub it on in a circular motion after you wash your face and it takes away all of your dead skin–it is fabulous and I’m sure you and your friends will love it! Candles are also a great gift option, who doesn’t love candles?! The Fornasetti Candles are a little pricey, but smell great and really make a statement. I also just LOVE these lemon cocktail napkins…get a set of these, a nice bottle of vodka and a sparkling French lemonade and you’ve got yourself a beautiful and summery hostess gift!
I hope you loved my picks this week and I hope everyone has a SAFE and HEALTHY weekend!
Happy Friday, y’all!! Can you believe we are just a week away from Fourth of July celebrations?! Today I’m sharing my favorite patriotic finds to complete your party preparations! From your attire to decor, I’ve got you covered!
Are you still searching for the perfect Fourth of July decor for your party?! Target and Amazon have the cutest patriotic decorations at affordable prices and you will be able to get them in time for your celebration! I’m a big fan of stars so of course I love banners and garland made with red, white and blue stars. I also think these Meri Meri confetti rockets are a fabulous party favor for your friends and family.
As far as my Fourth of July outfit, I will be wearing my new Daily Sleeper Atlanta dress! I ordered mine in a size small and in the “Azure Blue” color. I love the color of this dress and how feminine and comfortable it is. As much as I do love this dress, it did take two months to be delivered so I wouldn’t recommend planning on wearing it immediately, but I will say, it is totally worth the wait.
I also love the white LoveShackFancyxTarget dress for a festive option….you can pair it with some turquoise earrings and maybe a red bow in your hair and you with have the perfect outfit. I ordered this dress online in a size 2 and it fits perfectly. It looks almost exactly like the LoveShackFancy Edie dress, but much more affordable. It’s still in stock in a few sizes at Target, you don’t want to miss this one! I shared this navy blue polka dot dress from Tory Burch last week and I had to share it again because it is just too cute and it is now under $200. This is a quintessential Fourth of July dress and would be so cute with a red headband or jewelry to show your American pride.
If you’re hitting the beach, pool or the lake, I would suggest this gorgeous high-waisted red bikini from Mara Hoffman. I have a few bikinis from Mara Hoffman and I normally wear a small in the top and medium in the bottoms. These swimsuits are definitely an investment, but they fit perfectly and are made so well… you can keep them for years!
No outfit is complete without a great pair of shoes and for this Fourth of July, I will be wearing the Zara bow slides. They just got marked down to $35 and are a perfect neutral for summer. If you’re looking to splurge this holiday weekend, look no further than these chambray Chanel beauties or these chic Gucci slides. They are the perfect compliment to any patriotic look you have planned!
Whether you’re barbecuing with family, going out on the boat or the beach for the fourth, you will definitely need a festive face mask and of course, Evian face mist to beat the heat!
What are your plans for the Fourth? Leave me a comment and let me know! Hope you are all staying safe, happy and healthy this weekend!
Happy Friday!! Who else is ready for this three-day weekend? I am so excited to relax a little bit this weekend, hang out with my husband and see my friends. But there are also some amazing deals happening online right now that you do not want to miss!
In addition to the major sales at Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue, I’m sharing some of my favorite things this week including a dress and swimsuit that are 60 percent off at J.crew right now!!
I hope you enjoy my picks this week and have a safe and fun long weekend!
Happy Friday, loves!! It feels like these weeks have been flying by lately! Today I am sharing my favorite things from this week and y’all…you need to RUN, not walk to order this Tularosa lavender swimsuit from Revolve!! It is on a major sale right now and is so flattering!
This week I am also loving this amazing “B” necklace from Sequin and this lemon face mask from Taylor Tillman New York! Not only is it beyond adorable, but Peyton, the designer, is also donating 100 percent of the proceeds from all masks sold to charities in New York City. At $15, these masks are a great buy and go to an even better cause. Check out the website for even more amazing designs!
I’m seriously crushing on these Dolce and Gabbana espadrilles for summer. They are super feminine and will go perfectly with dresses, jeans and shorts. These flowery ice cream bowls from Target are also perfect for al fresco dining this summer. Whether you want to serve a beautiful salad in them or ice cream, they will be the perfect compliment to your tablescape!
