Gifts for Him and Her

Gifts for Him and Her

The holiday season is here! I can’t quite wrap my head around the fact that it is nearly December, but it is and that means it is time to start your holiday shopping. I have started my gift guides for the season and am so excited to share them with y’all! Today, I am sharing my guides for him and her.

Let’s start with the ladies! I developed this guide at several different price points and I think these gifts are most applicable for your friends, sisters, sister-in-laws, moms, mother-in-laws, grandmothers, girlfriends, fiancés and wives.

I have been wanting experiences more than material things this year, but I still love great presentation. I think the *perfect* gift would be the Tuscany Marvel Book with a trip to Italy as a surprise inside of the book! I also love bundling cook books with kitchen tools. If you have a friend who loves to cook, you can’t go wrong with the New Defined Dish Cookbook, Meat Masher, a set of Spatulas and a chic Apron. If your friends already pre-ordered Alex’s new book, try out Big Macs and Burgundy. I would wrap all of this together and add this Have Yourself A Merry Margarita Ornament to the gift wrapping!

If you’re looking for some designer splurges, I always recommend the Louis Vuitton Neverfull (if you don’t have one, I use this every day!), I’m also eyeing these Chloe Geometric Sunglasses, Golden Goose Cowboy Boots and a Bottega Veneta Card Holder. If your girl is trendy, get her this Mint Green Nylon Prada Bag with Pouch. And if you have designer taste without the budget, get this Mini Kelly Dupe…It is less than $200 and looks *identical* to the real Hermes Mini Kelly.

Let’s all take a minute and admit that it is really hard to buy gifts for the men in our lives. With that said, I have learned a few tips about giving gifts to men over the years. For my dad, I know that a handwritten note is the absolute best gift I can give him, but outside of that, I’ve started paying attention to what my dad buys for himself. Mostly golf stuff and Peter Milar anything. So whether it is your dad, husband, brother or grandfather, look at what they buy themselves and maybe get them something they already have in another color or pattern.

When I was telling my dad about the gift guides, he told me that when you’re thinking of a gift to get the men in your life, you should follow their hobby. So basically, if they’re a golfer or a car fanatic, look at that and then do some research on a great gift in that area. Also, pay attention to what they say they want. My husband and dad both want very few things in this world so whenever I hear them say, “oh wow! I want that!” I immediately make a note in my phone and save it for their birthday or Christmas.

I hope these gift guides help in your holiday shopping journey and remember to buy things sooner than later as shipping has been taking FOREVER this fall!

Winter Essentials on the Winter Solstice

Winter Essentials on the Winter Solstice

Happy Winter Solstice, y’all! As we celebrate the first day of winter and a whole new season of energy, I’m sharing my winter must-haves to keep you warm and stylish. As a native of Salt Lake City, I’ve had a few years to figure out how to keep myself warm in the cold and I think the key to staying warm is layering, having a really good coat and solid shoes.

I won’t lie, Winter is probably my least favorite season. I hate being cold and I generally don’t enjoy wearing heavy clothes, but over the years, I’ve come up with some cute ways to stay warm and keep my style. Living in Texas, our winters are quite a bit milder than other parts of the country, but it still gets cold here and when I visit family in Montana, I have to bundle up!

Tennis shoes have also been a life saver for me during the winter months. During spring, summer and fall, I live in sandals so it is hard for me to give those up in the winter. I love Golden Goose sneakers because they are super stylish, go with all of my outfits and think they are worth the money for sure. If you’re not ready to make the splurge, Steve Madden has made much more affordable versions. I recently bought the Steve Madden star fur slides specifically for chilly walks with my dog in the morning. I love these shoes because they are warm and they are so easy to slide on and off. I also love the price! I got them on sale for $49…10 percent of the price of what most Golden Goose sneakers will cost you!

My other favorite shoes for the winter are my mini Uggs! I have been wearing these boots for years and I no shame wearing them all around town! I really only like the tan Uggs because I think they are a great neutral and I love the mini size!

Regardless of the season, you’ll find me in my duster sweaters…I literally live in these. I have a black, white and tan duster and throw them on over everything thing. In the winter months, I layer the sweater with long sleeve shirts and sometimes a scarf over the top and in warmer months, I throw them over a tank and jeans or a dress.

I have a hard time staying warm so blanket scarves are a necessity for me in the winter. I love getting mine from Madewell and Gap, but I recently found one I really like at Target. Scarves can often be incredibly expensive and high-maintenance to care for, but at these stores, the scarves are affordable, well-made and come in the cutest colors. You can easily throw them on over a sweater or layer them under a jacket. I also love my pom pom hat. I wear mine around town, skiing or inside if I’m really cold!

What are your winter essentials? Let me know what you’ll be buying to keep you warm this season and I hope you all have a beautiful winter solstice!

Brit’s Gift Guide for Her, Him and Them

Brit’s Gift Guide for Her, Him and Them

Happy Friday, everyone! Can you believe we made through this week?! Luckily, the gauntlet that is 2020 is ALMOST over and that means Christmas is upon us!! I have started my gift guides for the season and am so excited to share them with y’all! Today, I am sharing my guides for Her, Him and Them.

Let’s start with the ladies! I developed this guide at several different price points and I think these gifts are most applicable for your friends, sisters, sister-in-laws, moms, mother-in-laws, grandmothers, girlfriends, fiancés and wives.

  • Recipe Binder
    • Tab Dividers for Recipe Binder
    • You’ve probably noticed by now, but I love cooking and I love pulling recipes from all over the place! This adorable binder is such an upgrade from the basic Office Max version I was using before and I truly love it! Such a thoughtful gift for the chefs and hostesses in your life! Pair this set with a cute Apron and Spatulas and you’ve got a beautiful gift.
  • Rose Carmine Rainbow Sweater
    • I am obsessed with anything Rose Carmine, but particularly this stunning sweater and would love to get this under the tree this year…*hint, hint, Will!!!* It is a bit of a splurge, but IMO, totally worth it!
  • El Arroyo Coffee Mug
    • I saw this mug the other day and laughed out loud. At $13, this is a unique and hilarious gift that is perfect for a friend. Pair it with a Starbucks gift card for some holiday cheer.
  • Mama beaded bracelet
    • So cute for the mamas in your life! Whether it is your girlfriends, wife, mother, sister or in-laws, this is a fun gift for every mama!
  • Nordstrom Pajama Set
    • This pajama set is to die for!! I bought several sets for myself and family members during the anniversary sale and cannot recommend it enough! First and foremost, it is so cozy, but it is affordable and machine washable and dryable!! Seriously saves me so much time compared to my Eberjey and Bedhead sets, but same quality.
  • Lululemon Wunder Under Leggings
    • Whether the women in your life enjoy working out or not, we’re all wearing leggings…a majority of the time lately and IMO, these are the best. They fit many different body types perfectly and last forever! Can’t go wrong with these.
  • Louis Vuitton Neverfull
    • This bag is a must for every woman. It is timeless, durable, practical and elegant. I got mine several years ago and it is my most-used bag to this day. It can also transition from an everyday bag to a work bag or diaper bag seamlessly.
  • Glitter Golden Goose Sneakers
    • Who doesn’t love Golden Goose sneakers? This luxe euro sneaker brand isn’t going out of style anytime soon so why not treat your lady to an extra special glittlery pair for the holidays?
  • Jo Malone Perfume
    • I LOVE Jo Malone Perfume and think it makes for a wonderful gift. During the holidays, Neiman Marcus stores have artists who come to hand paint all Jo Malone products and I think giving someone one of these painted bottles is extra special. My favorite scent is Earl Grey and Cucumber…it is very light and smells like you just walked out of the spa. I will say that perfume is a very personal choice so maybe check your girlfriend/partner/mother’s bathroom before buying a fragrance.
  • Hanacure Facial Set
    • Hands down, this is the best at-home facial money can buy. For $30, you are getting fabulous packaging, a fun at-home system and a facial that can tighten and brighten your skin.

  • Hand-dipped Glasses
    • These hand-dipped cocktail glasses come from the coolest store in Houston and now Austin, Manready Mercantile,  and they are a wonderful gift for the guys in your life. You could add a bottle of their favorite drink and you’re all set. They also come in orange and pink if you don’t like the black.
  • Texas Star Tee
    • Also from Manready Mercantile, I love this tee shirt as a gift. Now more than ever, we are living in comfy clothes so why not get cute clothes from a great local shop?
  • Versace Slippers
    • If your man is a little bit extra, these Versace Slippers are sure to be the perfect gift for them! Not only is there extra branding, but the color and quality are fabulous!
  • Tequila Decanter
    • This Jonathan Adler rocket decanter is made for other liquors too, but I know my husband will prefer the tequila decanter. This is great for a bar cart and for when you have company over.
  • Peter Millar Pullover
    • This Peter Millar pullover is a great gift for the men in your life. Classic colors, high-quality and perfect for so many occasions, this is a crowd pleaser for sure.
  • Ugg Slippers
    • Doesn’t everyone need slippers for Christmas? Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m always cold so I wear slippers more than shoes, but most men I know love a good pair of slippers.
  • Cigar Case with Cedar Lining
    • I ordered this for my husband for his birthday this year because he said he wanted it and he enjoys cigars once in a while. It is a beautiful gift from a local shop in Fredericksburg, Texas and relatively affordable. I also got him a few cigars to go in it and he absolutely loved it!
  • Customized Golf Balls
    • From what I’ve heard from all of the male golfers in my life, Pro V1s are the gold standard in golf balls. For my dad’s birthday, I ordered him a custom set of these golf balls with Lar Bear and a shamrock on them. They were about four months late arriving because of COVID, but when they did finally arrive, he loved them and thought they were funny.
  • Zak Tumbler
    • I love these Zak Tumblers from Target! They are ⅓ of the price of Yeti Tumblers, work just as well and come in great colors! My husband uses these every day for everything from coffee to cocktails.
  • ON Sneakers
    • Ok y’all, I’m sure you’ve seen these sneakers everywhere, but my dad bought several colors and he is obsessed with them! Scoop up a pair for your man and I’m sure they will be thrilled!

Now for the couples in your life or your parents or mother and father-in-law. For this category, I’m thinking of your married friends, brother and sister-in-laws, married cousins, etc. When I think of buying gifts for my parents and couples in general, I try to think of things that both a man and woman would like or that would be good for the home or entertaining.

For this gift guide, I’ve shown items individually and have added suggestions of things you can pair them with if you want to elevate your gift.

  • Coravin Wine System
    • For the wine lovers in your life! The Coravin is a game changer for wine drinkers. How many times have you been at home alone and wanted a glass of wine, not the whole bottle and didn’t want the rest to go bad? This system can serve wine in small amounts without losing the integrity of the bottle. Pair this with a bottle of wine and a set of glasses and you will have an ideal gift!
  • Oyster and Lemon Ice Bucket
    • I absolutely love these Katie Kime ice buckets to give to couples as a gift! My personal favorite is the oyster and lemon design, but there are so many cute options to choose from. You can also get these monogrammed which is a great personal touch. I would pair this with a nice bottle of champagne and you’re all set!
  • Floral Cheese Knives and Marble Cheese Board
    • These cheese knives and marble cheese boards are sure to be a crowd pleaser for your friends and family members! Whether you’re entertaining or just making a cheese board at home, this set is perfect and an affordable gift!
  • Terracotta Pomegranate and or Monogram Paper Napkins for Powder Room
    • This terracotta pomegranate serves not only as a beautiful display to dress up a powder room, but also as a diffuser. I also recommend Monogram napkins as a wonderful gift for friends and family. To dress them up a bit, you can present them with a tray to hold them in.
  • Nespresso Machine
    • This one doesn’t need much of an explanation, but I have never met anyone who doesn’t love Nespresso machines! They are the best and so easy to use. Pair the machine with a sleeve of their favorite coffee pods and maybe some cute mugs and you’re good to go!
  • Gift Card to their favorite restaurant
    • Restaurants have been struggling during the pandemic and we all love a nice out for dinner so think about your loved ones’ favorite restaurants and get them a gift card to their favorite spot.

I hope y’all loved these gift guides and that I’ve been able to help you kick off your holiday shopping! Come back next week to see my next set of gift guides!

NSALE is open to the public!

NSALE is open to the public!

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is now open to all shoppers!! sadly, many items have already sold out, but there are still plenty available and some have even been restocked!! Check out my guides to see what is still available!

From this group, the Kiehl’s lotion, Dior sunglasses, eternity band, hoop earrings, Calvin Klein bra and Ugg slippers are still available. Aside from the Dior sunglasses and Bony Levy diamond band, these items are staples that I wear or use on a daily basis and would highly recommend scooping them top before they go back to their normal prices.

Aside from these items, I’ve shared a few more that I am loving from the sale that are still available! What I love most about the lip balm, candles and pajamas is that they make fabulous Christmas gifts. Last year, I added the mini diptyque candles to the gifts I gave many of my friends and family members and everyone loved them. Instead of paying $60 for one candle, you pay $55 for the whole set of five!

Diptyque Mini Candle Set

Happy shopping, friends! I hope you are able to find some items you love today!!

Brit’s Picks: My Guide to the NSALE

Brit’s Picks: My Guide to the NSALE

I am so excited the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has officially begun!! It is one of my favorite sales of the year because instead of marking down items that aren’t selling well, the anniversary sale offers up to 40 percent off of new items and some of the top items and brands sold at Nordstrom that do not regularly go on sale.

This is a great time to stock up on beauty products, holiday gifts and essentials. I am also excited this year to shop for Fall clothes because I finally live in a city where it gets a little chilly!! I’ve divided all of my picks into six different categories for easy browsing and I hope you love them as much as I do!!

Although this Anniversary Sale is a bit smaller than in other years, I do think there are some great items. I hope you love all my picks as much as I do and Happy Shopping, my friends!!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview

It’s that time of year again…just a month late! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is almost here!! Growing up in Salt Lake, Nordstrom was the main store we would shop at and I have such fun memories of getting fall clothes and fun things from this same when I was a little girl.

Today, I’m sharing a sneak peek of my favorite items from the sale this year. The sale opens to the public on August 19th and you can shop earlier based on the status of your Nordstrom card level.

Each year for the sale there are a few things I stock up on. First and foremost, the Kiehl’s body lotion. This is my ABSOLUTE favorite lotion and I use it every day. It is regularly priced at $78 a bottle which can be a little expensive, but on the sale, it is marked down to $49. I usually buy three or four bottles and they last me an entire year until the next sale. I love this lotion because it is not filled when heavy scents or perfumes and has a beautiful texture. I hate watery lotions and overly-heavy creams and this Kiehl’s lotion has the perfect consistency of moisture. I also look forward to stocking up on my favorite bra during the sale…I wear the Calvin Klein t-shirt bra in nude every day and during the sale they are marked down to $26 during this sale. The Anniversary Sale is also a great time to buy yourself some new slippers! I love wearing slippers around the house and Ugg always puts out a great pair during this sale. This year I’m loving this great orange pair and for under $60, they a great deal! I know Christmas is a long time away, but maybe grab a few extra pairs for your mom and sisters, I think slippers are fabulous gifts to give!

I am so excited to see my favorite hoops on the sale this year!! I wear these all the time and people think they are real! They are normally $60, but during the sale they are marked down to $34.90. Make sure you get yourself the gold and silver because I promise you, you’ll be wearing these non-stop. If you’re in the market for an anniversary gift or maybe a push present, the Bon Levy diamond eternity band is an amazing choice!! It is beautiful and $1400 off during the sale! I’m also VERY into these crystal Dior sunglasses, how chic are they?!

These hoop earrings are my FAVORITE!! You can wear them anywhere and everywhere!

I’m loving the clothes on this year’s sale as well. I bought the blue and white version of this ATM dress a few years ago and I wear it all the time. It’s machine washable and so easy to wear to the pool, on the plane, to lunch, to the grocery store…literally to whatever. Make sure you don’t let this one pass you up!

Wearing the blue and white version of the ATM dress that is part of the Anniversary Sale this year.

I also LOVE these pink Alo Leggings and Free People Tank Top…they would be so cute for yoga or a walk. I always size down for Alo because it runs big compared to Lululemon. And we can’t pass up on these adorable Roberta Roller Rabbit Pajamas… I would recommend getting an extra set for your sister or bestie too…they are sure to be loved by all!

What are your favorites from the sale?! Stay tuned over the next few weeks as I continue to share my favorites!!
