Black Friday and Cyber Monday Come Early

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Come Early

Black Friday and Cyber Monday will no doubt be different this year, but one major benefit is that many of the sales have already begun! I love a good sale and regularly buy items during these sales. It is a great chance to buy Christmas gifts, stock up on great pieces for yourself or splurge on an item you’ve had your eye on for a while.

This year as I sit at home scouring these sales online, I’m thankful I don’t have to brave crowds and hoards of people at the mall. I’ve created a list below of my favorite stores that I am shopping at for Black Friday and Cyber Monday along with their deals and codes to help you shop more seamlessly.

Brit’s Thanksgiving Day Outfit Inspo

Brit’s Thanksgiving Day Outfit Inspo

Can you all believe Thanksgiving is this week?! I can’t quite wrap my mind around it, but it’s here so I’ve started my outfit planning. As most of you know, our pup Charlie fractured his leg last week and had to have surgery so I’ve decided to stay in Texas for Thanksgiving rather than traveling with him to see my family. I’m so bummed I won’t get to see them, but I think we will have a fun little holiday at home!

Because this year has been so crazy, I feel like there aren’t any rules when it comes to holiday dressing. Some people are celebrating virtually or having micro celebrations in person. Depending on what your Thanksgiving crew is like, you might be keeping it casual this year, dressing up or something in between.

Casual

I’m guessing for most of us that comfort is key this year. I plan on wearing this outfit for the first part of the day while I’m prepping dinner and the house. I recently bought this amazing tie dye sweatshirt from Pilot and Powell in New Orleans and am totally obsessed with it! I’m pairing it with my favorite cropped Frame jeans and tan mules for an effortless, comfortable look.

Festive

I think we all know this by now, but this Sister Jane dress is my favorite dress I’ve bought this fall and I plan to wear it for dinner on Thanksgiving day. It is currently on sale so hurry up and grab yourself one! I love the plaid and green for Thanksgiving because it makes me feel festive and homey. I love pairing this dress with cowgirl boots to get some modern prairie vibes.

Dressy-Casual

If you’re in a warmish climate like me and want to be dressy and comfortable, look no further than this ADORABLE kitten dress from Ganni! I also picked up this dress at Pilot and Powell and know that it will be something I wear on repeat. I’m wearing it here with a tan waist belt and tan slides for and effortlessly chic look.

Dressy

If you are getting dressed up this Thanksgiving, I would suggest keeping things classic. One of my go-to classic looks for the holidays is throwing on my leather leggings, an oversized white button down, black Manolos and adding a hair bow for good measure. This look is so timeless and will be sure to wow the family and look great in photos!

Tie die sweatshirt, Cropped Jeans, Tan Mules, White Shirt Dress, Tan Waist Belt, Tan Slides, Green Plaid Dress, Tan Cowgirl Boots, Black Hair Bow, Oversized White Button Down, Black Leather Leggings, Black Heels

How are you celebrating Thanksgiving this year?! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Brit’s Holiday Gift Guide for the Ladies in Your Life

Brit’s Holiday Gift Guide for the Ladies in Your Life

Happy Friday, my friends! As promised, I have another fun set of gift guides for you this week and they are for the ladies in your life. From the woman who has everything to your co-workers, friends, teachers and even yourself, I’ve got the perfect gifts for you!

Let’s start with the gifts for friends, co-workers, teachers and neighbors. We all have these people in our lives, but they are probably not our main focus for gift-giving during the holidays. If you’re looking for an adorable gift without spending a lot of money, I would suggest giving miniature bags of Tate’s cookies to your acquaintances and tie the bags with a red ribbon. I did this a few years ago for my co-workers, my husband co-workers and our neighbors and people loved it! It’s affordable, adorable and delicious!

1. Watercolor Playing Cards 2. Veuve and Sugarfina Gift Set 3. Apres Ski Sleeping Mask 4. Monogrammed Mug 5. Diptyque Candle 6. Vintage tree ornaments 7. Starbucks Tumbler 8. Slip Silk Face Mask 9. Monogrammed Mug 10. Sugarfina Cranberry Cocktail Bears 11. Sugarfina Holiday Caramels 12. Tates Mini Cookie Bags with Red Ribbon 13. Shiraz on the Shelf

Based on the feedback from my polls a few weeks ago, it seems like you all have a lot of ladies in your lives who seemingly have everything. For these women, I think getting them something beautiful or unique is the way to go when thinking of gift giving.

1. Organic Cotton Loungewear Set 2. Rialto Coupe Glasses 3. Cocktail Scented Candle 4. Retro Chic Veuve 5. Charging Pad for Apple Electronics 6. Bon Bon Cocktail Glasses 7. Starry Night Clutch 8. Shearling Sandal 9. Hermes Silk Scarf 10. Rose Scented Bubbles 11. Toilet Paper Ornament 12. Burgundy Coffee Table Book

While many of you said you won’t be buying gifts for yourself this year, I decided to still create a gift guide in case you want to treat yourself! These are my dream gifts and I hope to one day be able to buy them all for myself, but until then, I’ll just have fun creating beautiful gift guides for all of you!

I hope you all have enjoyed the gift guides this week! Is there anything you’re still looking for for yourself or your loved ones? Leave me a comment and let me know! Come back next week to see my gift guides for stocking stuffers! Hope you have a great weekend!

Fall Wedding Guest Dresses by Dress Code and Price Point

Fall Wedding Guest Dresses by Dress Code and Price Point

I know it sounds crazy because of the recent spike in COVID cases, but I went to a wedding last weekend (my first since January). I have to admit that I was nervous to go, but since it was the wedding of one of my husband’s best friends, I sucked it up, treated myself to some fancy new face masks and tagged along with my hubs.

The wedding ended up being beautiful and in a huge church so guests had room to spread out. Everyone wore masks and had temperature checks and the reception was all outdoors so I felt really comfortable being there. Attending this wedding made me think about dressing up again because lord knows it has been a minute since most of us have been able to do that and I wanted to share some beautiful dresses with all of you in case you’re attending a wedding this fall!

Me and my hubby at a wedding last weekend. **We did wear face masks at the wedding at only took them off for this picture!**

While I ended up wearing one of my favorite dresses from a last year, I was a little stressed about what to wear.

The invitation said black tie, which traditionally means formal and floor-length, but I had a gut feeling that I would be overdressed in a gown, which my husband and mother-in-law confirmed. As my mother-in-law said, black tie is more for the men to wear tuxedos and for the women to wear elevated cocktails dresses in New Orleans, but that may not be the case where you are. I think good indicators of what a dress code really means are the time of the wedding (after 6 p.m. is definitely more formal) and the location of the wedding and reception.

Let’s start with perhaps the most common dress code, cocktail. Since most weddings are in the evening, cocktail attire is generally on the invitation. For men this means a nice suit and for women it means a nice dress, usually around knee length.

Navy Blue Lace Dress, Tan Heels, Sheer Blush Dress, Metallic Platforms, Burgundy Silk Dress, Tan Bow Heels
I love this burgundy silk dress for a fall wedding. I think it could pass for sure for a cocktail dress code and for black tie optional.

Things get trickier when couples list “Black Tie” as the dress code for their weddings. Traditionally, black tie means to wear a floor length gown, but that is often not the case at these weddings that request black tie on the invitation. For men, black tie does mean to wear a tuxedo or very nice suit, but for women it can in some cases mean a gown, but more often than not, it really means an elevated cocktail dress.

If you’re invited to a wedding that really is formal…say a night time wedding at a really fancy location like a fabulous ballroom or if the couple has rented out a museum , then you will want to go with a floor-length gown.

Navy Blue Off the Shoulder Gown, Tan Heels, Black Halter Gown, Black Strappy Heels, Black and Pink One Shoulder Bow Gown, Black Heels with Sparkly Bow

I love this black gown for weddings or any formal event you might have in the future. It is timeless, elegant and beautiful.

As we all know, weddings have been thrown for a loop by coronavirus and one trend I’ve noticed springing up is outdoor day weddings. Inspired by the outdoors and rustic decor, I would wear a casual flowy dress (even a bit prairie) with a great pair of boots to a wedding like this!

Green Plaid Dress, Tan Boots, Floral Black Shirt Dress, Navy Blue Wrap Dress, Tan Boots, Blue Bohemian Dress, Tan Boots

My favorite dress this fall! Perfect for a fun lunch out or a rustic outdoor wedding.

If you do have a wedding you’re contemplating going to, make sure you feel comfortable going and if you do go, make a plan. I made sure I had face masks and lots of hand sanitizer in my bag and tried to keep enough distance between myself and other guests. But most of all, have fun! We are living in a crazy time so we deserve to have a little *healthy and safe* fun!

Brit’s Gift Guide for Girls, Boys and Fuzzy Friends

Ok y’all, I have to admit, this set of gift guides might be my favorite so far! My sister-in-law loves getting matching monogrammed Cecil and Lou pajamas for the kids in the family every year for Christmas and I think that is such a fun idea! The pajamas are so festive and it makes for great photos that can be treasured forever.

I don’t have children yet, but I love buying gifts for the little ones in my life. Over the years, I’ve really liked bundling several things for the kids like pajamas, a book and a stuffed animal as a gift. When I was little, I treasured my books and stuffed animals so I guess I’m pushing those things on the kids in my life now, but I do think they really love getting them! I’m also DYING over these alligator slippers and in addition to getting a pair for my nephew, I might get a pair for my future son too!

1. Olive, the Other Reindeer Book 2. JellyCat Plush Puppy Dog 3. Christmas Onesie 4. Mickey Mouse Face Mask Set 5. Alligator Slippers 6. Play Kitchen Utensil Set 7. Toy Truck Set 8. Black Jeep 9. Play Kitchen Set 10. Buzz Lightyear Pajama Set 11. Puppy Dog Tie 12. Mickey Mouse Pajamas

And now for the puppies!! As most of you know, I got a puppy in August so this will be our first Christmas with our precious Charlie and I am so excited to spoil him!! From fuzzy sweaters to sparkling water, this gift guide will help you pamper your furry friends for the holiday. Charlie already has a few of these items and he loves them.

The fuzzy donut bed from Amazon is probably the best thing we’ve bought him so far. It is only $35 and he uses it all the time! It comes in two colors and is machine washable so I cannot recommend this product highly enough. Charlie also loves his SparkleDog treats and they would make such a fun gift for your pup and to give your friends who have dogs too. We also use the Kiehl’s Cleansing Spritz on him in-between baths. It smells great and is so much easier to use than giving him a bath.

Don’t tell Charlie, but I’m wrapping all of his gifts this year in the personalized wrapping paper from Etsy! Is it not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!

1. Fuzzy Pink Sweater 2. SparkleDog Treats 3. Monkey Toy 4. Bark Box Subscription 5. Christmas Tree Tent 6. Dog Bone Storage Basket 7. Ceramic Food Bowl 8. Lamb Snack Sticks 9. La Croix Plush Toy 10. I hope these gift guides help you spoil the children and animals in your life this holiday season! Check back next Friday for another set of my gift guides!

What is it about fall that just makes you want to wear a hat and boots everywhere you go?! I’m not sure, but I do love this style and time of year! We FINALLY have cooler temperatures here in Austin and I have busted out all of my fall favorites!

Whether you’re going to an antique fair, a wedding or work, these chic fall staples should get you through the fall season in style! As if Golden Goose doesn’t do sneakers perfectly already, now they’ve gone and done boots perfectly too! They are a little pricey, but so good. I consider myself a bit of a grandmillenial gal and this dress from H&M is right up my alley. It does not come with a waist belt, but I highly suggest wearing one with this dress…it goes from grandmillienal to marm quickly without one. Luckily, you can grab this tan one for under $15. I paired this look with my go-to large envelope YSL bag and this stunning Eugenia Kim hat. You can add the beautiful sage green wrap coat for an extra layer if its chilly where you are!

If you’ve got a date night or wedding in your future, scoop up this sheer black dress before its gone! I paired it here with a stunning starry night clutch and black bejeweled mules that look exactly like the Jimmy Choo’s from last season, but for 10 percent of the price!

I have also been loving my Gotta Have Face mask chain that looks like Van Cleef & Arpels. It is so convenient to wear around my neck and really looks like a beautiful necklace rather than a chain.

Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween Weekend!

Save v. Splurge: Fall Coats

Fall weather has officially arrived here in Austin and I am breaking out my coats! I’ve rounded up four of my favorite coat styles at save and splurge prices to keep you warm and fashionable all season.

I absolutely love this green Barbour Jacket from Nordstrom and it is currently on sale!! I recommend this jacket for everyday wear, running errands or when you’re doing something outdoors. If you’re looking for an even better deal, check out this green jacket from Amazon. It is a cult favorite and looks good on any body shape or size.

1. Save: Green Active Jacket 2. Splurge: Green Active Jacket 3. Save: Black Wrap Coat 4. Splurge: Black Wrap Coat 5. Save: Tan Wrap Coat 6. Splurge: Tan Wrap Coat 7. Save: Teddy Coat 8. Splurge: Teddy Coat

Last year I bought my first Rachel Parcell Coat from Nordstrom and I can not say enough good things about it! First of all, the price is amazing…I think I got mine for around $250, but it truly looks like a Max Mara or Sentaler Coat for a fraction of the cost. I wore this coat to formal events and to work last year and I’m really looking forward to wearing it again this year. I haven’t been able to find the Rachel Parcell coats at Nordstrom this year, but I’m hoping they are up soon!

Wearing the Rachel Parcell Black Wrap Coat here on New Year’s Eve.

Tan wrap coats and teddy coats are also essentials for the fall and I have never seen a wrap coat for under $60!! Hurry up and grab one before they sell out! This style from H&M comes in a beige, tan and black.

Are you wearing coats yet?! Leave me a comment and let me know your favorite fall styles below!

H&M Offers 20 Percent Off for Two Days

H&M Offers 20 Percent Off for Two Days

Happy Monday, my loves!! I have had the best day so far, but it just got even better when I saw that H&M is offering 20 percent off of their website and free shipping for orders over $75 with the code DT8732. I have not always been the biggest fan of H&M, but this year, I have been loving it and buying many of my clothes from there.

As far as fast fashion retailers go, I think the quality of H&M clothing is fantastic. Aside from the incredible designs, I like that most of the clothing is machine washable, durable and the colors don’t fade. I also love that they offer discounts on already great prices! For sales like this, I recommend getting staples, but also some fun holiday outfits to wear for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and even New Years Eve!

This lavender sweater would be gorgeous for the holidays paired with a midi silk skirt or black pants. It also comes in black and white.

Whatever you get from this sale, I know you will be so happy with it! Leave me a comment and let me know what you get!
